The only issue I've had with Great Stuff is the way it cures-- it reacts to moisture in the air to speed the foaming and curing processes. That's why the can says to -lightly- mist the target area with water.
.
If you create too big a blob of the stuff, the center can't get enough moisture and won't cure overnight. But it'll sure cure over the next few months-- creating your very own earthquake, complete with cracks in the earth-- as moisture gradually sneaks its way into the interior.
.
If you need a big blob, you can try spritzing with water every inch or so, or treat the foam like a cake in the oven-- stick a knife in to see if it's 'done.'
